The school library is an area in LessonMate that school owners and admins can use to upload files that will be shared with teachers.

Find it using the new Library link in the main navigation header.

Most of the functions of the school library are the same as the teacher library, with a few exceptions:

  • Only owners and admins can upload to the school library

  • When a file is uploaded to the school library it is immediately available to teachers

  • You cannot fave a file in the school library because all files are visible all the time

All other functions are the same - owners/admins can upload any file type, rename it, add it to folders, and optionally download or delete it.

It's recommended to give school uploads meaningful names and add them to folders so teachers can more easily find the files they need.

The school library for teachers

When teachers visit their library page they see two sections - Your Library (the teacher's own uploads) and School Library (files uploaded by the owner or admins).

Teachers can only view the files in the school library. They can't rename the files, change the folders or delete them.

The only function the teacher sees for a school upload is 'Add to My Library'.

To use a file from the school library a teacher simply clicks 'Add to My Library' and the upload will be copied to their library. The school upload will then show 'In Your Library'.

From there they can do all the things they usually do with their own uploads - rename them, add them to different folders, download or delete them. and most importantly, use them when creating lessons! πŸš€

As usual, we welcome your feedback on this and all other features! πŸ˜€
